Habitat for Humanity Sale Big Success

The Tioga Chapter of Habitat for Humanity in conjunction with Valu Home Center held a Plant and Bake Sale on Saturday, July 31. With the help of many local volunteers and businesses who donated plants and baked goods, the event was a success.

Some of the businesses that donated plants were Mountaintop Greenhouses of Tioga Center and Dee's African Violets of Apalachin. Many residents in the Owego community took the time to bake something or donate a few plants.

Valu Home Center also held a hot dog and soda sale to raise more funds for Habitat. Their employees brought baked goods to sell at the event.

The Tioga affiliate of Habitat for Humanity is always looking for skilled or unskilled volunteers who are willing to put in a few hours each week to help deserving people achieve their dream of owning their own home.

Anyone who wishes to make a donation or give us some help, our phone number is 607-687-1140. Our Web site is www.geocities.com/ HabitatTioga.
