Bob Bell Announces Candidacy for 137th Assembly District

Barton dairy farmer Bob Bell has announced that he is a Conservative candidate for the 137th Assembly District. "I am a hard working New Yorker who is fed up with high taxes, and a sate government that is badly broken," said Bell. "We have reached the point in this state where more people are riding on the government wagon than we have out front pulling it. It is unconscionable to demand taxpayers to endure double-digit property tax increases every year. Something has to be done!"

On January 17, 2004, Bell protested Tioga County's 19% property tax increase by throwing his 2004 tax bill off the Court Street Bridge in a Tioga County version of the Boston Tea Party (pictured above).

"New York State needs a good dose of Reaganomics. Cut taxes and especially cut spending! If the voters in the 137th Assembly District decide to send me to Albany to represent them, that is exactly the voting record they will receive," said Bell.
