Ribbon Cutting at Skyview Dragstrip

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held last month at Skyview Dragstrip in Tioga Center. The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) recently sanctioned Skyview Dragstrip for drag racing. Officials from the IHRA presented a check for $100,000 to Mr. George Swansbrough, owner of the track. The money  was used for the first official IHRA event, "Night Under Fire," which was held at Skyview on July 24. The dragstrip sits high atop a hill in Tioga Center, on the site of the former Skyline Park (Carousel Mountain).
