Apalachin Lions Announce
The first day of school is a day of new experiences and new clothes. Unfortunately, not all families are able to buy new clothing for that all important opening day. The Apalachin Lions, in cooperation with the Endicott K-Mart, has conducted a Back to School Program for the last 15 years. This program furnishes gift certificates to eligible families for help in defraying some of the cost of getting their children equipped for school. People living in the Apalachin, NY, and Little Meadows, PA, zip code areas (13732 and 18830 respectively) can obtain information on eligibility and the application process by calling Nick Rossi at 625-3765 before August 19, 2004. Eligibility for aid will be determined by the Apalachin Lions Club. Applicants who qualify will receive a gift certificate prior to the start of school.
