Waverly to Celebrate 150th Anniversary with Big Parade

Waverly will celebrate its 150th Anniversary with a huge parade on Saturday, July 10, beginning at 10:00 am.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Broad and Clark Streets, proceed down Broad Street to Spaulding Street, and conclude at Elm Street School.

United States Congressman Maurice Hinchey will be the grand marshal of the parade.

The parade will include approximately 25 floats, including those built by business owners, civic organizations, youth groups, and church groups. Some are expected to be 30 feet long or longer.

There are a number of musical groups marching, including more than 20 bag pipers, who will also provide music at the Elm Street School while the parade winds down.

The Dansville White Sabers, a drum and bugle corps group, will also take part in the parade.

There will be a variety of motorized items in the parade, starting with a group of motorcycles. Parade watchers will see a 1946 fire engine, an antique hearse, military vehicles and fancy buggies pulled by massive horses.

Come see this grand parade as Waverly celebrates its 150th Anniversary.
