Traffic Light #5 on Route 434 in Apalachin has recently been installed by the New York State Dept. of Transportation at the Route 17 East bound Exit 66 off ramp. The traffic light will be fully operational by the end of the month. This will alleviate the problem of tractors pulling out in front of traffic on Route 434, which causes many near-misses.
