OA School Budget Vote June 15

On Tuesday, June 15, the taxpayers of the Owego-Apalachin School District will vote on the school budget once again. This time, the administration has reduced the budget by $322,343. That amounts to less than 1% of the total budget.

They decided to leave in all sports. To keep in the sports the following items were taken out: Middle Years Program, reductions in capital improvement, planned balance, equipment, conferences, curriculum development, driver ed, a teacher, a bus driver, and one cleaner along with a couple of other items.

The administration is making the cuts from the wrong end!
Cuts should be made from the top down, not from the bottom up. Is there any reason why the superintendent of schools makes half of what the President of the United States does?    Let's start making cuts from the top, not the bottom.
