A Familiar Voice is Back
Controversy, controversy, controversy! Sometimes I think the world feeds entirely off of controversy. If it is not a pop diva exposing her breasts on national television, it is the media nit- picking some tragic event in the name of ratings. I, myself, am guilty of this; without controversy I do not believe I could produce an article for you great readers every month. For this month (probably for this month only LOL) I have decided to take my own advice and write about something positive. Oddly enough the familiar voice I am talking about in the title of this piece is not myself, but that of a radio station. That's right! Finally, 1330 WEBO AM radio has come back to Owego, New York. After a long hiatus, WEBO is back and better than ever. WEBO offers many types of programming for all age groups; WEBO programming covers sports, local and national news, politics, and a wide variety of other subjects as well. In the near future I will also be starting my own talk show on WEBO call Future Shock. Future Shock will feature much of what you read here from me—straight up, in your face opinions, not only from me but also from many other special guests! One show on WEBO I really find interesting is No Apologies. It is on 1330 WEBO on Wednesday nights (live) 6:00 to 8:00 pm and again on Saturdays (replayed) 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The hosts of No Apologies are Denis McCann, Chris Evans, and Joe Palladino. No Apologies is the ONLY live radio show in Tioga County. No Apologies is a voice for the community; all three members of the team love this community and No Apologies allows them to voice their opinions on certain happenings locally and nationally. Not only does No Apologies allow Denis, Chris, and Joe to voice their opinions, but members of the community can also call in (687- 9605) and have their voice heard live on the air. No Apologies is all about three long-time friends who get together, talk smack, and make no apologies for it. I will forever be in debt to the No Apologies team as they have been instrumental in helping me get the Future Shock concept off the ground. Since No Apologies returned from hiatus I am been a weekly special guest on the show. Needless to say it has been an honor for me to share the studio with three upstanding citizens such as Denis, Chris, and Joe. Do not just read this column and take my word on how great this show is—do yourself a favor, tune in, and see what radio that offers no apologies is all about. That's all for this month. Until next time, respect yourself and
each other.
