Let's Talk Strawberries
Strawberry Festival Set for June 19 in Owego

This year's Strawberry Festival will take place on Saturday, June 19, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in Owego.

Parking is available at Hickories Park and Marvin Park.  The downtown area will be closed to traffic from early morning through the conclusion of the festival.  This includes lower North Avenue, the adjoining portion of Main Street, Lake Street, Church Street, between Main and Front Streets, and Front Street.

The new Court Street Bridge and Park Street will remain open. Court Street will reopen after the ten o'clock morning parade.

Once downtown, get ready for a leisurely stroll down "Strawberry Lane." The theme this year is Strawberries & Cream and includes a salute to the dairy industry and Crowley Foods' 100th anniversary. Crowley Foods has been an integral part of Tioga County during the last century.

Entertainment will follow the parade at strategic points throughout the festival section of town. Displays and demonstrations by juggler, Will Stafford, magician, Dennis Keith, Waterman Conservation and Education Center, and Ross Park Zoo will delight each viewer. The air will be filled with the sound of bands such as Wire Drawn, Second Class Citizens, Reveal, Hat Trick, Morgan String, and Tom Eagan as they each perform throughout the festival day.

Since the debut of the Owego Strawberry Festival 24 years ago, hundreds of thousands of people have been drawn to downtown Owego to experience the charm of this annual festival.  We urge everyone to come early and be ready for a full day of fun and excitement.
