"Little Miss Apalachin 2004" The "Little Miss Apalachin" Contest, sponsored by the Apalachin Fire Department, is held every June in conjunction with the Apalachin Firemen's Field Days. The winner of the Little Miss Apalachin contest will receive a $100 US Savings Bond and a trophy. The runner-up will receive a trophy. The contest is open to girls who will be eight- or nine-years-old at the time of the contest and who live within the Apalachin Fire District. Contestants must pre-register and their completed application form (see below) must be received by 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 5, 2004. The contest will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 12, in the food tent on the Apalachin Firemen's Field Day Grounds. The contest lasts about one hour. Contestants are requested to check in at the stage area between 11:30 and 11:45 am to ensure that the contest starts on time. The children may choose their own attire. Contestants are based on appearance, personality, and communication skills.
