Floats & Marchers Needed
Floats and marchers are needed for Waverly's 150th Birthday Celebration Parade which will be held on Saturday, July 10. Residents, businesses, fraternal and veterans organizations, schools, churches and civic groups are all invited to participate. Flatbeds are available. The theme for the parade is "Decades Through Time." Anything pertaining to Waverly's history from 1854 to the present would be terrific. If you have any ideas, especially a willingness to build a float or back one up financially, please contact Joe Schmieg at (607) 565-4879, or Craig Maury at (607) 565-3797 or at maury@cqservices.com. If you can't float - march! Carry a sign. Drive an antique car or old horse and wagon. Wear a costume. March with your group. Waverly Recreation Director John Hogan will fit you in. Do you need a costume or are you willing to make some? Let the organizers of Waverly's 150th Birthday Parade know. Contact Rita Maury at (607) 565-3797 or at maury@cqservices.com for some ideas. Help make Waverly's 150th Birthday Parade one to remember.
