Perry and Bidwell Become Eagle Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 43 of Apalachin has two new Eagle Scouts: Alexander Perry and Brian Bidwell.

Alexander Perry, 18, is the son of Bert and Laurie Perry of Apalachin. For his Eagle Scout Project, he worked on the barbecue pit of the Park Terrace United Methodist Church. He resolved a drainage problem by installing a cement pad around the pit. His project also included repair to the siding of the barbecue pit pavilion.  Alexander is currently a senior at Vestal High School and is looking toward attending college next year and studying graphic arts.

Brian Bidwell, 18, is the son of Al and Francie Bidwell of Apalachin. Brian's Eagle Project was to erect a welcoming sign to the Tioga Terrace neighborhood.  The sign is located at the corner of Tioga Boulevard and State Route 434. His project included making the sign as well as designing and putting in place some landscaping around the sign. A senior at Vestal High School, Brian is planning to attend college in the Fall as a Liberal Arts major.

Both of these new Eagle Scouts have chosen to become Assistant Scoutmasters of Troop 43. In this way, they will continue their personal involvement in scouting and help guide younger scouts.
