Age: 10 (OK, close to it!)
Monthly Web site: kidsdomain.com
This Web site I have recommended in the past, they always have
a lot of wonderful things to do for all the holidays. Log on and check
out all the fun things you can do for Valentines Day, such as, learn the
history of Valentines Day. If you like doing crafts try some of their Valentines
Day crafts like, Heart Bingo or Holiday Pillowcases. They also have online
games and riddles. If you have a close friend and would like to give them
a "special" Valentine, send them "Cupid's Poop Poem Present"! It's really
silly!!!
What's New?
In a past article I told you about a chapter book series that
The Limited Too was coming out with called; Tuned In, written by Julia
DeVillers. You can now buy the first four books in a boxed set. They recently
came out with the fifth book, School Spirit. Here is a small summary from
the back of the book, "Cheerleading tryouts are coming... and I'm trying
out!! School Spirit day is coming... and I'm competing for our school team!!
YIKES! What's going to happen?" Have fun reading!
Makenzi's Bakery: Cookie Bouquet
Try making these delicious treats for your special Valentine.
Always have a parent help you when using the oven. Makes 8 cookies:
Ingredients:
· 1 package (18 oz.) Nestle Toll House refrigerated chocolate
chip cookie dough
· 8 flat wooden sticks (popsicle sticks) · Small
amount of melted chocolate (chips)
· Mini M&M's
Directions:
· Preheat oven to 375 F.
· Shape cookie dough into eight two inch balls. Place
4 balls at a time onto ungreased cookie sheet. Insert wooden sticks into
each ball to resemble a lollipop; flatten dough slightly. Then gently press
mini M&M's into each lollipop.
· Bake 13 to 15 minutes, or until edges are crisp. Cool
on baking sheet for one minute, and drizzle them with melted chocolate.
Then, remove to cooling racks to cool completely.
Tie ribbons around sticks and give as a cookie bouquet!
Fun Fact:
Did you know . . . The Chocolate Manufactures Association of
America says that 36 million boxes of chocolate are sold for Valentines
Day each year? There are also approximately 1 billion Valentines cards
are sent each year. Wow!!
Happy Valentines Day everyone!!
