Tracking Club
January 10, Saturday, 10 am - 1 pm
Learn to see and interpret the natural activity that surrounds
us each day. This weekly club is for everyone. Topics include clear track
identification, trailing, track illustration and photography. Registration
Required.
Cross Country Skiing Class
January 10, Saturday, 1 to 3 pm
Learn how to use cross country skis. Bring your own or rent.
Weather permitting. Registration required. $5 ($10 w/rental) members, $7
($15 w/rental) non-members.
Natural Tanning
January 16, 24, 30 & 31
Fridays 6 pm - 9 pm
Saturdays 10 am - 4 pm
Primitive technologist Doug Jenks will guide you through the
steps involved to naturally tan a deer hide by using organic materials.
This process is done over the course of four classes. This is a labor-intensive
program that will require some physical effort as you clean, flesh, and
soften the hides. Each participant will receive a piece of the deer hide.
Registration Required. Cost is $50.00 members/$65.00 non-members.
Beating the Winter Blues
January 17, 24, 31 and February 7, Saturdays, 1 - 3 pm
Sue Smith-Heavenrich will host a writing-oriented workshop. Topics
for the January classes are: January 17 - Beating the Winter Blues,
January 24 - Poetry and a Hot Drink, January 31 - Bones and Stones. The
workshop is for children ages 9-10, 11-15, and adults. Space is limited.
Registration is required. $10 per class or $35 for all four classes for
members/ $15 per class or $55 for all four classes for non-members
