Jeff Anderson is County Employee of the Year
The Tioga County Employee Recognition Committee is pleased to congratulate
Sergeant Jeff Anderson, on being selected "Employee of the Year 2003."
Jeff has been an employee of the Tioga County Sheriff's Office for more
than 28 years.
Jeff embodies the principles that define a true law enforcement professional
- dedication, honesty, valor and commitment. From the time he was
hired by the Sheriff's Office, in 1975, Jeff has strived to improve himself
and take on new responsibilities. He is a NYS certified Police Supervisor,
Firearms Instructor, and Armorer. He has been awarded certifications in
Advanced Crash Management; Police Photography; HAZMAT Scene Management,
and vehicle scales operations. In addition to his primary duties
as road patrol supervisor, Jeff serves as a member of the A.I.U. Team,
which is responsible for the investigation and reconstruction of serious
and fatal motor vehicle accidents. He is a member of the department's tactical
response unit, and is responsible for coordinating all prisoner transports.
Throughout his career, Jeff's professionalism has been recognized
both by the community and by his peers. In addition to the many letters
of appreciation sent by citizens and organizations that he has aided, Jeff
has received the Sheriff's Certificate of Merit, and the Certificate of
Commendation. In 1989, he was nominated for the Carl Draxler Award, a prestigious
honor bestowed by the State Sheriff's Association for outstanding accomplishments
by a Deputy Sheriff.
Jeff, and his wife, Barb, live in the Village of Candor. He is
the proud father of three grown children, Michael, Jason, and Katie.
