• O Tannenbaum Exhibit
Now through Jan. 10, 2004
This holiday exhibit features holiday items created by local
artists and trees decorated by area businesses and organizations. Visitors
can vote for their favorite tree.
• Old Toys Exhibit
Now through Jan. 10, 2004
"Inside the Old Toy Box: Treasures from Everyone's Childhood"
exhibition features toys and trinkets from the past. A chance to reminisce
and relive fond memories.
• Kid's Craft Workshops
December 4, 11, 18, Thurs, 4-5pm
December 13, 20, 2-3pm
Kids (ages 5 and up) spend an hour making gifts for mom, dad,
teacher, and other special folks. All craft supplies are provided, but
bring family/school photos that can be cut and used as part of the craft.
There is a $5 fee for each gift. Reservations are required -call 687-2460
by 4:00 pm on the preceding day.
• Santa Visits
December 6, 13, and 20, Saturday
11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Come visit with Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas.
Photos with Santa cost $5.00 for non-members, $3.50 members.
• Museum Open House
December 6, Saturday 10am-4pm
There will be a full day of activities during the Open House.
Special events during the Open House include a Children's Story Hour from
11:00 am to 12 Noon and 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. There will be a visit from
Santa from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, and a Kid's Craft Workshop from 2:00 to
3:00 pm.
• Magic Lantern Show
December 7, Sunday, 2pm
at the Elk's Club, 223 Front St.
A special presentation by the Magic Lantern Theatre. Costumed
performers recreate this popular Victorian form of entertainment using
a combination of color pictures, using antique equipment, and the content,
music, and dramatic style of the 1890s. Held at the Elk's Club, 223 Front
Street in Owego. $5 adults, $3 children. Free for children under 5.
• Museum & Library Hours
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00
pm. The research library is open Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 to 4:00
pm, and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
