Spaghetti Dinner, Raffle
A Spaghetti Dinner and Benefit Raffle will be held on in Newark Valley on Saturday, December 13, to raise funds for James Lavine, 20, of Richford, who is recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident in July. The Spaghetti Dinner and Benefit Raffle will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at St. Johns' Catholic Church, 24 Rock Street in Newark Valley. James suffered nerve damage in the accident, and has no use of his right arm because of detached nerves. He will be traveling to Louisiana in January, where surgeons will reattach the nerves. The benefit will help with the expenses of the surgery and trip. A free will donation is requested for the spaghetti dinner. Raffle tickets are $5.00 per ticket and the prizes include his-and-her watches from Olum's ($250 value), a .22 shotgun (circa 1950) with case ($200 value), and Nala and Simba stuffed animals from Toys R Us ($60 value). You need not be present to win the raffle. At the benefit, there will also be 50/50 raffles, bake sales and gift raffles including Greek Peak lift tickets, restaurant gift certificates, Wal-Mart gift card, sports equipment rentals, beauty services, gift baskets, and many other items.
