Lew Bradley Inducted into Hartwick Hall of Fame 

Lew Bradley of Owego has been selected as the 57th inductee to the Hartwick College Athletic Hall of Fame.

 Bradley, a 1952 graduate of Hartwick College in Oneonta, was a gifted two-sport athlete who earned a reputation as a fierce competitor on the football and basketball teams at Hartwick. He was the only athlete who played on both teams in the 1950-1951 academic year.  

 Bradley played three seasons as a halfback under Hall of Fame football coach M. Beal "Pop" Banks, and played three years on the varsity basketball team under Hall of Fame coaches Harold "Hal" Bradley and Tom Greene.

 As a freshman in 1948, Bradley led the football team in rushing yards and yards per carry. In 1949, he had seven carries for 72 yards and completed one pass for 17 yards before fracturing his arm in the season opener against Brooklyn College. He threw two touchdown passes in Hartwick's final two football games in 1950.  

 Bradley played on the freshman basketball team and was the leading scorer on the 6-3 squad. He spent the next three seasons on the varsity team as Hartwick posted a 45-21 overall record. Bradley was named a co- captain as a senior.

 After graduation, Bradley coached high school basketball at Owego Free Academy from 1954-1961. He had a 76-38 career record at Owego, including a 43-10 mark in Southern Counties League play. In 1974, Bradley was inducted into the New York State Section Four Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a player and coach.
