• Bottle & Can Drive
The Bottle and Can drive will continue – please keep bringing those clean, returnable bottles and cans.  The library will be collecting them indefinitely.

• Antique Appraisal with Bob Connelly
October 17, Friday, 7 pm
Bob Connelly will begin his program with a slide show of his recent trip to Cuba called "Treasures of Cuba." Following the slide show, he will be doing appraisals. Bring your items from home and learn more about their history and value. A donation of  $2.00 is requested for each item you have examined. Mr. Connelly has always been a supporter of our library and is donating his time for this event.

• Preschool Story Hour
 Thursday Mornings, 10:30 am
All preschoolers are welcome.  We read several stories, do a craft and have fun.  On October 9, the children  will be learning about fire safety when a firefighter visits during story hour. He or she will be bringing an ambulance for the children to see.

• Library Tote Bag
Show your support of the library by carrying your new library tote bag.  These heavy canvas bags say "I support the Apalachin Library" on the front. They are available now at the library for $10.00. These even make a great gift for the book lover in your family.

• Book Discussion Groups
Two book discussion groups meet regularly. The Mother/Daughter book club meets once a month, usually on a Monday evening at 7:00 pm. Girls in middle school and their mothers or adult friend are welcome.  Also once a month, usually the last Monday evening of the month at 7:00 pm, a book club for adults meets.  Anyone is invited to join either program, any month. Just ask at the desk for a copy of the current book.
