Flamingo a Friend with the Pink
Wave
The "Pink Wave" is a way to say good bye to summer or to celebrate
a special occasion. The Senior High Youth Group at St. Margaret Mary's
Church in Apalachin will have 15 people travel to Houston, Texas, from
November 13 to 16 for the 2003 National Catholic Youth Conference.
As a fund raiser for this event, the group is waving goodbye to summer
with a tropical Pink Wave. If you don't like pink flamingos, insurance
against a flock appearing at your home is available. Up to 48 pink
flamingos can flock anyone's yard for a 24-hour period. If you have a special
event (birthday, anniversary, new baby, etc.), or just want to hold on
to that summer feeling, please call Jerri Ficarro at 689-0409 to schedule
your flocking or get insurance against one.
A basic wave costs $15 and will put a dozen pink flamingos out
for a 24 hours. Two dozen flamingos for $30 or the whole flock for
$50. If you are interested in the insurance against a flocking that is
$25. The youth are not looking forward to an end to summer, however, they
are anxious to keep the summer feeling alive through the Pink Wave.
