Train Hits Car in Owego, 1 Injured
 A Canadian-Pacific freight train collided with a car driven by Lillith A. Maloney, 44, of Owego, at a private crossing off Route 17C in Owego on July 30 at 10:30 a.m.  According to the State Police Report, Maloney appeared to have been trying to back her Lincoln Continental off the track when the east bound train hit her car. She was transported by the Campville Emergency Squad to Wilson Memorial Hospital where she remains in critical condition.
