Apalachin Lions Corner
by Donald Castellucci, Jr., President

Summer is in full swing and that means our Back to School program will be starting. Each year the Lions Club helps approximately 100 students or more with back to school supplies.  We could not do that without the communities continued support.

Jay Lalkiya, owner of the Apalachin Pharmacy donated an American Flag to the club for our pole located on Route 434. The Glenn Warner Post VFW Auxiliary held a flag dedication for the club. The Lions thank both of them for their time and generosity.

Apalachin Lions Club members recently worked a special day at the Empire Speech and Hearing Camp, Camp Badger. Each year many of the districts clubs put on a picnic and provide games for the campers and their families. It is one of the highlights of the summer for the campers at a camp that provides activities and education for children around the state.

If you would like to be a member contact any Lion or call 625-4646. You can also contact Membership Chairman Lion Vince Hawley at 625-2365. Your time will be well spent helping members of our local community.
