Hall Announces Candidacy for County Clerk

Lila (Roberts) Hall, a lifetime resident of Tioga County, has announced her candidacy for Tioga County Clerk.

Hall, 59, is a 1961 graduate of Candor Central School. She retired from IBM after a 30-year career which started in the Manufacturing Assembly line and progressed to Production Control, Management, and Staff Assignments. She has had management and training responsibilities for many different departmental organizations.

In May 2001, Hall began her second career as Director of Records Management and Fixed Assets for Tioga County. Accomplishments in her current position include organizing workshops for all Departmental Records Stewards to educate them in the proper control of the county records, a countywide Fixed Assets Inventory and the consolidation and renovation of the Records Center.

"My current position as Director of Records has given me first hand knowledge of the various areas of responsibility controlled by the Tioga County Clerks Office," said Hall. "The County Clerk, Carol LaPlante, and I have worked on several projects together and being detail oriented, I realize the importance in the accuracy, availability, and preservation of the records for use by the public. I will continue to pursue grants to improve the efficiency of the office and to preserve Tioga County historical records. I believe that with this knowledge and management experience, I would do an excellent job as your Tioga County Clerk."

The Republican Primary Election date is September 9, 2003.
