Farmers' Market in Owego The Owego Downtown Farmers' Market will be open on Tuesdays at Eckerd's parking lot from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. This year the farmers' market will also be held on Thursday evenings, starting from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, also in Eckerd's parking lot, downtown Owego, in addition to the Hickories on Fridays from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. There will be a variety of locally grown produce, berries, fresh cut flowers, baked goods, crafts, eggs, and herbal products available. Early sweet corn should be ready by mid-July. It's a good idea to bring a shopping bag and a picnic cooler to keep items cool. On Thursday evenings, there will be music in the Courthouse Square Gazebo, and Owego shops are open until 8:00 pm. Remember that buying at a Farmers' Market supports the local farm economy. Produce is fresher, organic items are available, prices are better, and you'll have much more fun shopping outside all summer long. For more info or to sell at the Farmers Market call Frank Wiles, 687-2874.
