Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation Grant Awarded
The Berkshire Emergency Squad, Inc. is proud to announce receipt of a grant from the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation. The foundation has awarded a special project grant in the amount of $26,000 to purchase a cardiac monitor/defibrillator.. The Berkshire Emergency Squad, Inc. currently provides basic and advanced life support to the residents of the Village of Newark Valley, and the Towns of Berkshire, Newark Valley and Richford. The cardiac monitor/defibrillator will allow emergency care providers a means of evaluation and assessment of cardiac and respiratory emergencies in the community. The information attained by the use of this monitor will also allow the squad to communicate with the medical facilities and physicians that can make decisions on care prior to the patient arrival. These decisions can be the deciding factor in patient care prior to his or her arrival at the hospital, thus it can significantly enhance favorable patient outcomes.
