 The Home Textile Tool Museum (HTTM) in Orwell, PA, is now open  for their 5th season with expanded  workshops, displays, flax patch, and  selection of flowers and plants for dyeing. Spinning and weaving done weekly. Presenters will be available throughout the day for questions and discussions. Admission is $3.00.
 Workshops are given weekdays for adults and children. If you have any questions contact Pam Mawhiney, Pamspins2@aol.com, (607) 648-4146. 
 Participants in workshops should bring snacks, lunch if necessary, and dress in comfortable clothes.

• Pendulum Spinning Wheel
June 7, Saturday
 Pat Hilts of Wisconsin will explain the history of and demonstrate the unique pendulum spinning wheel. She will also share information about other Patent Spinning Wheels, spinning wheels which are made of unusual construction and how they function. 

• Drop Spindle Spinning
June 14, Saturday
 Kathy Halton of Ithaca will demonstrate and teach spinning on the drop spindle. You may bring yours, try one of the museum's, or purchase one at the museum to learn or perfect this spinning skill.

• Making Broad-Brimmed Felt Hats
June 20, Friday, 9:30 am - 4:30
 Denise Nunn of  Newark Valley is the instructor. Each participant will make a felt hat from their own wool fiber or from that provided by the instructor. Fee: $45 per person. Class limit of 10. Tools are supplied for class use. Please send name of workshop with your name, address, phone#, e-mail with registration fee $15. (deducted from cost).

• Natural Dyeing
June 21, Saturday
 Esther Welden of Montrose demonstrates how rural families dyed yarn in a kettle over our open fire. Visitors are invited to bring a 1 oz. skein of yarn to dye in the dye pot.

• Children's Spinning Workshop
June 27, Friday, 12:30 - 3:30 pm
 Children ages 8 - 12  will discover the many kinds of fibers that can be spun into yarn, learn how to spin on the drip spindle, have a spindle and a supply of wool to take home to spin. Instructor is Alison Lovejoy of Endicott Fee: $30 per child and Class Limit is 8.

• Spinning Cotton
June 28, Saturday
  Clinton Fudge from Erin, NY will be spinning cotton on the Book Charka and the Great Wheel.

• A Spinning Wheel Clinic
July 5, Saturday
 By Pam Mawhiney. Bring your problem antique spinning wheels for inspection and advice about getting them in working order. 

 When registering for childrens' workshops, send name, address, age, name of class, and registration fee of $10 (deducted from class fee) to the museum one month in advance.
