Owego Gymnastics Takes Top Honors The Owego Gymnastics and Activity Center's level 5 team placed
first in the Dare to Be Great Bright Raven Gymnastics Invitational held
May 18 in Rochester.
Alyssa Frost of Apalachin placed 3rd all-around with a 37.425: 4th on vault (9.4), 5th on bars (9.325), 4th on balance beam (9.4), and 3rd on floor (9.3). Carmen Vanness of Little Meadows placed 5th all around with a 9.175 on vault, 10th on bars (9.1), 3rd on balance beam (9.5) and 10th on floor (9.0). Jessica Darpino of Newark Valley placed 6th all around with 36.20 with with 1st on vault (9.70), 12th on bars (9.05), and 2nd on floor (8.95). Megan Springsteen of Owego placed 12th all-around with a 35.575, 11th on vault (9.0), and 8th on balance beam (9.175). In the 12 and over age roup, Sarah Vaz of Candor placed 9th all around with a 35.00, 1st on vaulting (9.5), and 6th on balance beam (9.15). Jenna Cross of Endicott placed 9th on balance beam (9.15). Sarah Ficarro of Owego placed 4th on bars with a 9.2. Michelle Sansky of Apalachin placed 9th on floor (8.825). Owego Gymnastics and Activity Center (continuing the fine tradition of the Owego Scamps Gymnastics Club since 1964) is a not-for-profit organization which offers classes at all ages and levels and competitive teams, as well as birthday parties and parents nights out.
