Little People, Big People
Tuesdays, 9-10:30 am, 1-2:30 pm
Little People, Big People is a nature program for 3- and 4-year-olds
and an accompanying adult. Each week has a different theme. $2 members,
$3 non-members. Pre-registration required.
Talons! Bird of Prey Experience
May 10 & 11, Saturday & Sunday
Waterman Center hosts Mark Weston and his amazing birds of prey.
Pre-registration is required. Presentations include flying demonstrations
at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, and owls at 6:00 pm. Adults: $5 members, $7 non-members;
Children under 12: $3 members, $5 non-members; free for children under
5.
Sunday Brunch
May 11, Sunday, 11 am & 12 Noon
The brunch is held in conjunction with the "Talons! Bird of Prey"
experience. A bird of prey program will be held at 10:00 am and at 1:00
pm. The brunch menu includes various egg casseroles, fruit salad, scalloped
corn, baked beans, and quick breads. Pre-registration required. Adults:
$10 members, $12 non-members; Children under 12: $5 members, $7 non-members,
no cost for children under 5.
Native American Festival
May 17 & 18, Sat & Sun, 9 am - 5 pm
The Iroquois Dancers from Onondaga Nation Territory will perform
and speak on Iroquois social dances and songs. There will be demonstrations
on flint knapping, atlatls, and lacrosse. Children's activities include
making beaded rings and corn husk dolls and digging for arrowheads. Adults:
$5 members, $6 non-members; Children under 12: $2 members, $3 non-members;
no charge for children under 5.
Volunteer Naturalist Meeting
May 21, Wednesday, 9:30 am
All volunteers are invited to this monthly meeting to discuss
opportunities for volunteering at Waterman.
Annual Plant Sale
May 24, Saturday, 9 am - 4 pm
The center's annual plant sale features perennials, aquatic plants,
ornamental grasses, wildflowers, annuals, and herbs.
Seniors Foundation Travelogue Program
June 1, Sunday, 2 pm
Dave Henderson, a local free-lance sportsman columnist, will
present a program on his overland trip to Labrador. The program is free
to all Tioga County Senior Citizens. Pre-registration is suggested.
