"Look Good . . . Feel Better" Helps Cancer Patients

"Look Good . . . Feel Better," a community based, free national service, teaches female cancer patients beauty techniques to help enhance appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

With the help of local beauticians, women are given beauty tips about makeup, hair, wigs, turbans, and scarves. Each participant receives a complimentary box of beauty products containing items used in the program. Participants are also trained in different ways to style wigs and turbans.

Tioga's "Look Good . . . Feel Better" program will be offered on Friday, May 9, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, at Tioga Opportunities, 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego.

Cancer patients must register for the "Look Good . . . Feel Better" program by calling Mary Shaller, Director of Patient Services, at the American Cancer Society at (607) 786-0820, ext 306.
