Gardening Classes Offered
Tired of Winter? Get ready for spring with these exciting gardening
classes offered by the Tioga County Master Gardener Program.

to register for any of the classes.
• Starting Herbs from Seed
March 20, Thursday, 5 pm
at Tioga Gardens, Rt 17C, Owego
In this hands-on class, you will learn the basics to the more
advanced techniques of starting all types of herbs from seeds and cuttings
in a professional greenhouse. You will take home the seeds you start for
your own garden. Tioga County Master Gardeners and Ed Kuhlman of Tioga
Gardens will be on hand to demonstrate techniques and answer any specific
questions you have. A $5 fee will be charged.
• Vegetables from Seed
March 25, Tuesday, 6 pm
at Tioga County Office Building
Master Gardener Barry Davis will reveal to you his tried and
true secrets to starting a vegetable garden from seed. The class will be
held in Room 107-108 in the Tioga County Office Building at 56 Main Street
in Owego. There will be demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on opportunities
that will benefit everyone from the beginner to the advanced gardener.
The best information on seeds, potting mediums, containers, sowing, lighting,
and care will be given to ensure your success. You will take home the seeds
you plant in the class to get a head start on your own garden. Call 687-4020
to register for this class.
• Public Plantings
March 27, Thursday, 7 pm
at Tioga County Office Building
Does your storefront need sprucing up? Does your garden club
or community group need inspiration? You will come away from this class,
the Best Plantings for Public Places, with all the information you'll need
to make your project a success. A colorful slideshow and the expertise
of Chrys Gardener will give you incredible ideas for gorgeous plantings
that require little maintenance and water and hold up well to the stresses
of public places. The class will be held in the auditorium at the Tioga
County Office Building at 56 Main Street in Owego. A $2 donation is suggested.
