Blood Pressure Screenings
Fridays, Noon - 1 pm
Free blood pressure screenings will be provided every Friday
from Noon to 1:00 pm at AFD Station 1, 230 Pennsylvania Avenue, Apalachin.
If you are unavailable at that time, just stop by the station anytime between
6:00 am and 6:00 pm weekdays. If the crew is not out on a call, they'd
be happy to take your blood pressure. Questions? Call 625-2216.
Firefighters Move South
Lt. Brian Cascarino and Department Secretary Donna Cascarino
transferred with IBM to Austin, Texas, on February 1. We wish them the
very best.
Drivers, EMTs, Firefighters Needed
Call Dave Ritz, 625-2507, to learn about all the benefits of
joining AFD. To name a few: free medical evaluation, immunizations,
training, banquet, clam bake, service awards, fitness consultation, access
to apply for scholarships to college . . . and personal satisfaction from
helping your neighbors. You can make a difference!
If you join AFD, your commitment: Attend 10 hours of orientation,
attend at least 2 hours of in-house training per month, respond to fire/EMS
emergencies when they occur, and work at the AFD Annual Field Days.
Training is held Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Thursdays 9:00
to 11:00 am, or the fourth Saturday of each month, 9:00 to 11:00 am. You
choose which training session fits your schedule.
