At the Apalachin Library

Pre-School Storytime
December 27, Thursday, 10:45 am
Pre-schoolers (and their older brothers and sisters) are invited to come to the library for stories, rhymes, and crafts.

Book Discussion Group
January 7, Monday, 7 pm
The group will discuss Map of the World by Ruth Hamilton. Please call or stop by the library if you would like a chance to read this title before the group meets. Anyone is welcome to join at anytime. Stop in, even if you haven’t read the book.

Reading Volunteers Needed
Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) will begin early in 2002. The library is looking for volunteers interested in visiting the schools to read to small groups of children once or twice a week for four weeks. All it takes is some time during the day, a love of reading, and a willingness to share that with children. Please call the library if you are interested.

Services for the Homebound
Do you know someone who finds it difficult to get out especially during the winter months? Your local library in coordination with Finger Lakes Library System can get books and books-on-tape delivered directly to the homes of residents in Tioga County at no charge. The Mail-It program will send materials to anyone age 55 and up, the physically or visually disabled, residents with no convenient library, lack transportation, or has any other obstacle that prevents them from using the library. Please call your local library or the Apalachin Library to sign-up for this wonderful service and let the library come to you.
