Nature Craft Classes
Nov & Dec, Mondays, 6 - 9 pm
Waterman Center announces a new series of craft classes on Monday
nights during the months of November and December
Sunflower Head Wreath
November 5, Monday, 6 - 9 pm
The birds will love this wreath created from a dried sunflower
head, corn husks, leaves, nuts, and dried fruit. It is perfect for a fall
door decoration or to hang in the garden. The cost of materials in included
in the fee. Bring a hot-glue gun if you have one. $20 members, $25 non-members.
Travelogue - Destination Europe
November 10, Saturday, 3 pm
Herb Stamer will share his experiences in planning a trip to
Europe and what he saw there. The slide show presentation will include
scenes from Holland, Germany, Switzerland, France, and England.
Teasel Trees
November 12, Monday, 6 - 9 pm
Create an ornamental tree all ready to decorate for the holidays
Jeanne Peterson will show you step by step how to harvest, prepare, and
use teasel seed heads to make this unique tree. No prior craft experience
required. The cost of materials is included in the fee. Bring a hot-glue
gun if you have one. $20 members, $25 non-members.
Volunteer Naturalist Meeting
November 14, Wednesday, 9:30 am
November's here and there's plenty to do. All volunteers are
invited to our monthly meeting to discuss opportunities for volunteering
at Waterman. Your talents are needed; so don't be shy. Coffee and a morning
snack will be waiting for you.
Native American Beadwork
November 19, Monday, 6 - 9 pm
Learn how to make a beading loom, design a pattern and create
a piece of Native American style beadwork. $20 members, $25 non-members.
Natural Ornaments
November 26, Monday, 6 - 9 pm
Learn to create "one of a kind" ornaments from natural and found
objects. Acorns, milkweed pods, teasels, pinecones, and nuts will be a
few of the items used. The cost of materials is included in the fee. Bring
a hot-glue gun if you have one. $20 members, $25 non-members.
Snow Shoe Making Class
Nov 28, Dec 5, 12, 19, 6 - 9 pm
Waterman Center will be teaching and assisting people on making
their own snowshoes. They will supply the kits and instruction. The fee
includes everything you will need. You must pre-register for the class
and only pre-paid registrations will be accepted. If you don't have time
to make a pair of snowshoes, completed kits will be available for purchase
at the same price. Register by November 12 to reserve your kit or finished
show shoes. Fee is $100 for members, $125 non-members.
Parents' Shopping Getaway
December 1, Saturday, 1 - 4 pm
Drop the kids at Waterman Center and hit the stores! This is
your chance to get your holiday shopping done and not worry about those
little prying eyes. The kids will enjoy an afternoon of games, hikes, and
nature crafts. Children will each receive a gift. Limited space available.
Call for reservations. $10 members, $12 non-members.
Birdseed Birdhouse Feeders
December 3, Monday, 6 - 9 pm
Create a unique log cabin style birdhouse shaped feeder covered
with millet, corn, and other natural materials. The wire frame can be reused
and covered again and again to keep the birds fed all winter long. The
cost of materials is included in the fee. Bring a hot-glue gun in you have
one. $20 members, $25 non-members.
