On September 21, a Ribbon Cutting was held at R&L Diner, 9 Main Street, in Newark Valley. This is the official grand opening of the diner which is under the ownership of Cassandra Kittle and Penny Helton. The local diner is a favorite of many local residents because of its home cooked meals and variety of daily specials. R&L Diner is open Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and on Saturday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
