| Elks Sponsor Essay Contest
The Owego Elks Lodge #1039 will sponsor an essay contest for school children of Tioga County in Grades 3 - 6, 7 - 9, and 10 - 12. The contest winner for each grade group will receive a $25 US Savings Bond. Winners will be announced at the annual June 14 Flag Day Ceremony at the Elks Lodge, 223 Front Street, Owego. The theme of the essay is to be "What My Flag Means to Me." Essays are to be a minimum of 299 words and a maximum of 500 words and will be judged on originality and patriotism.
