Building or Bridges?

The Tioga County legislators have received a windfall of several million dollars from the tobacco settlement. Our legislators have decided to spend the money to build a new county office complex. At a time when the population of the county is decreasing, should the size of our government increase?  The many bridges throughout the county are in need of repair. It would be more prudent to spend the tobacco millions on improvements to our bridges and roadways in the county. Yes, our bridges are in need of repair. Just look at the bridge on Pennsylvania Avenue in Apalachin. Built less then 10 years ago, it now has to be replaced. Is not the safety of the county residents more important than building a palace for the legislators to have their names put on?
