| Tioga County Highway workers dismantle a bridge on Pennsylvnia Avenue
near Long Creek Road in Apalachin. The bridge was immediately closed last
month when it was discovered that the main support beams were badly rusted.
The highway crew will rebuild it with new steel. The bridge, which spans
a small creek, should be open in a few weeks. Until then, traffic is being
detoured down Main Street to McFadden Road and Rhodes Road.
