Quilt Exhibit on Display

To the Nines, an exhibition of quilts organized by the Newark Valley Quilters, can be seen at the Tioga County Historical Society Museum in Owego. The quilts will be on display until June 16.

The Newark Valley Quilters is a group of approximately 30 ladies who started out meeting at each other's homes, but now gather weekly at the Post Office Building in Newark Valley. The non-profit group works on every aspect of making quilts: cutting, ironing, basting, tying, quilting, finishing. They will also help anyone with basting their own quilts or other services, but for a suggested donation.

During May and June, members of the group will offer demonstrations from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Historical Society on the following days:

May 16 - Fabric Flowers with Patti Cawley

May 23 - Stenciling with Becky Conklin

May 30 - Cathedral Windows with Pat Bender

June 6 - Paper Piercing with Nora Newell

June 13 - Free Motion Quilting with Alicia Griggs.

The Tioga County Historical Society is at 110 Front Street in Owego.
