The Town of Owego Bridge Committee received more than 90 suggestions for naming the new bridge which links Apalachin to Campville. Some suggestions and petitions received were for veterans of the Civil War, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Other suggestions were for individuals that have served our community for many years in leadership capacities.

Although all the individuals nominated are worthy of this honor, it was evident to the committee that it was impossible to pick one individual's name. (The committee received 21 different names of individuals and 3 sets of petitions with hundreds of signatures for three different veterans.)

Of the 90 suggestions received, the committee is bringing forth the following names from our residents's submissions for the community to vote on:

Please submit your ballot and sign your name and address. Only one vote per Village of Owego or Town of Owego resident. Please return the ballot no later than May 31, 2001.
