Decision Making Day

The Importance of Power of Attorney & Health Care Proxy

The New York health care proxy and durable power of attorney are legal documents that allow individuals to select precisely who they want to make health care and financial decisions if they are unable to make their own. The New York State Bar Association's Elder Law Section and Tioga opportunities, Inc., Department of Aging Services are conducting Decision Making Day 2001, a public service project to explain the importance and power of these legal documents and how they work.

In Tioga County, the program is scheduled for Thursday, May 10, at 10:00 am, at the Countryside Community Center, 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard, in Owego. The program is free. Bring your questions and leave with the ability to make an informed decision about these important legal documents.
