Frustration!!!

By Anne O. Stout

What is that emotion that we have all suffered from but tried to ignore? It is a yearning for something/or someone who we cannot have, but want right now anyway.

For instance, you homeowners, is there anything more frustrating than the wait to get the endless pile of paperwork done to close on a property? We always hit snags that could have and should have been cleared up earlier, but still delayed the closing a little longer. Right now we are in the middle of a big delay but won't bore you with the details.

Ever get a bill for something you never ordered and never received--so--why? How about being billed and re-billed, even sent to a collection agency for an item that you already paid for? (Been there, done that.)

I ordered a magazine as a gift for my brother one time. He not only did not receive the publication, but he got billed for it instead of me. It took two letters and a call to straighten the matter out, and I still have not lived it down.

How about how fast you get your insurance money after a claim? My last one sure took awhile, I know if I had taken as long with my payments the policy would have been cancelled.

Recently, I read a story about a fellow who had a $0.00 balance on his credit card yet kept getting bills on the balance from a collection agency. He finally decided to play along since letters and calls had not helped, so he mailed a check for $0.00 balance to the credit card. Would you believe the check for $0.00 bounced? (Oops, a little mix up at his bank.)

How about waiting in the long line at the grocery or retail store, and the person in front of you needs several price checks, or can't use their credit card like they thought. (Always make sure all your items have their price tags showing.)

In our fast paced, no time, have- several-places-we-must-be world, these facts of our lives can be very frustrating.

I work real hard at not letting my life run me; I try not to schedule too much at once. Most important, I try to allow for "me" time. You know the time to do what you want; it helps fight the frustration of the rest of your life.

"Don't sweat the small stuff" is great advice but some days there is no small stuff! Well, there actually always is but you don't feel that way. Today's frustration can be tomorrow's laughter, just try and remember that.
