Moolight Hikes
This winter, naturalists will lead moonlight walks in the woods as the weather permits. Watch the moon rise over the hills with the whole family. This month, call Waterman Center for available nights and to register. Free for members, $3 non-members.

Little People/Big People
January 16, Tuesday, 10 am-Noon
Little people and their big people are invited to join naturalist Susannah Krysko for the first of the year program just for you. Children will enjoy activities, crafts, and Waterman's unique beaver lodge exhibit where they can crawl inside and experience life in a beaver lodge. Dress warmly and be prepared to have fun. $3 for members, non-members $5.

How to Take Great Nature Photographs
January 20, Saturday, 2-3 pm
Join naturalist photographer Rick Marsi as he shares his most compelling photographs and the particular shooting techniques exemplified by each. Rick has been a successful nature photographer for more than 25 years. Learn where, when, and how to shoot various seasonal phenomena and techniques such as isolating the subject, creating captivating focal points, the importance of perspective, maximizing design elements, and the importance of light. All are welcome - beginners to advanced amateur photographers. $3 for members, $5 non-members.

Calls of the Wild
January 27, Saturday, 7 pm
Volunteer Naturalist Harold Johnson will teach calling techniques to attract all sorts of animals. Learn why we call and why animals respond, when to call, and when not to. Ages 9 and up. $3 for members, non-members $5.

Tracks & the Art of Seeing
February 3, Saturday, 10-11am
Join naturalist Scott MacDonald and look for animal tracks in the forest. Step back in time to the days when knowing the signs of animals told you if you were hunting the animal or the animal was following you. Take home a track book you will make in the class. $3 for members, $5 non-members.

Cross Country Ski & Snow Shoe Rental
Mon-Saturday 10-4, Sunday 11-4
Waterman Center rents cross country skis and snow shoes for use on their own trails. It is best to call ahead at 625-2221 to make sure your size is available. The price is $2/hour for members, $3/hour for non-members.

Nature Store
Mon-Saturday 10-4, Sunday 11-4
Shop for special items and gifts in the Interpretive Center at Waterman. The store has many specialty items such as birdhouses, blue bird box kits, feeders, books, children's finger and hand puppets as well as Hiawatha Island sweatshirts.
