At the Apalachin Library

Toddler Time
Wednesdays, 6 pm, Beginning February 21
The library will offer a six-week story program specifically for toddlers beginning February 21. Toddlers ages 9 months to 24 months are invited to bring a parent on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm for a half-hour of stories, finger plays, and parent/child actions. Space is limited so registration is a must. (If response is big enough, the library will open a second session.) To register, call the library (625-3333). If you reach the answering machine, be sure to leave your name, your child's name and age, and your phone numbers. Children outside of the 9-24 month age range may participate at the discretion of the library director.

PARP is coming
PARP stands for Parents as Reading Partners. This interactive program for elementary age children and adults will begin soon at Apalachin Elementary School and at Tioga Hills Elementary School. This wonderful program sharing the love of reading can be enjoyed by everyone at every age. Apalachin Library has a scavenger hunt for all children under the age of twelve. Everyone who completes the scavenger hunt by the deadline will receive a prize, but you will need help from an adult to win. Be sure to stop by the library for details on the hunt and other fun activities for adults and children to share.

Book Donation Guidelines
The Apalachin Library gratefully accepts used book donations for the annual book sale. The book sale committee developed the following guidelines:
Used books in good condition (paperbacks and hard cover) including:

- Non-fiction less than 5 years old
They cannot accept textbooks, magazines, Reader's Digest Condensed books, or encyclopedias.
Bring donations during library hours only. Please do not leave them on the front porch. If you have more than two boxes of books to donate, please call ahead so that special arrangements can be made for receiving them. Call the library if you have any questions.
