Master Gardener Program

for Tioga County

Are you looking for a fun and exciting volunteer program? If you have gardening experience, or wish to learn more about growing vegetables and fruits, consider becoming a Master Gardener volunteer at Tioga County Cornell Cooperative Extension. Classes will be held in January and February and will cover topics in soil preparation, composting, starting plants from seeds, organic planting and maintenance techniques and harvesting and preserving the produce. Next spring and summer, the trained volunteers will work in the towns of Owego and Waverly to teach gardening and food preparation skills as part of the Food$marts program, which aims to increase gardening and cooking/nutrition awareness in our community.
