Selected
to Team Honors
Jamie Huffcut of Vestal
and Gretchen Reschke of Owego were selected to first team honors at Mansfield
University in Pennsylvania.
Huffcut was selected as
a midfielder and becomes the first player in MU history to earn All-Conference
honors all four seasons. A second team selection in 1997 and 1998, Huffcut
earned first team honors in 1999. She is the only member of the 2000 All-PSAC
Field Hockey team to be a four time All-Conference honoree. Despite playing
all season with a painful shoulder injury, Huffcut scored 16 points including
six goals and four assists. She finishes her career as second on the MU
all-time scoring list with 69 points including 27 goals. Huffcut is the
daughter of Ron Huffcut and will graduate with a degree in criminal justice
administration
Reschke, a sophomore, repeated
her first team freshman selection. The forward led the Mountaineers in
scoring this season with 31 points on 11 goals and nine assists. In just
her first two seasons, Reschke has already become the schools all-time
scoring leader with 78 points and record 31 goals. The PSAC leading scorer
in 1999, Reschke finished fifth in scoring this season with 31 points including
a conference high nine goals. She is the daughter of Stella and Donald
Reschke, and is majoring in biology.
