WWII Letters
to and from Home
http://www.private-art.com
This attractive web site is
based on the letters to and from Private Arthur Pranger, 86th Chemical
Mortar Battalion, during World War II. The letters chronicle a two and
one half year stint in the United States Army, experiences in England,
Normandy, and most of the European Theater. It spotlights this soldier's
role in the biggest conflict in history before or since.
WWII U.S. Veterans
Website
http://ww2.vet.org
The World War II Veterans Website
is a creation of Dick Berry, a WWII Navy Veteran who served in the Pacific
Theater, and his son, Dave Berry, a 39 year old computer programmer from
Sarasota, Florida. There are sections about collectibles, a search engine
to find old friends, and a Memory Lane.
New WWII Memorial
http://wwiimemorial.com
The National World War II
Memorial will be the first national memorial dedicated to all who served
during World War II. It will be built in Washington, D.C. between the Lincoln
Memorial and the Washington Monument. Find out more about it at this web
site.
Coal Region
Nostalgia
http://www.coalregion.com
If you're originally from the "coal region" of Pennsylvania - or have family
and friends who are - you'll enjoy this nostalgic and sometimes lighthearted
look at live in the Anthracite Coal Region (Luzerne, Lackawanna, and surrounding
counties). There are recipes (potato pancakes, city chicken, halupkies,
potato candy), an amusing coalspeak dictionary, and several "top 10 lists"
(which non-coal crackers probably won't understand), photos, links, guestbook,
famous coal crackers, and lots more.
Drive
In Theaters
http://www.driveintheater.com
Let down the top on the old
Chevy and take a cyber trip to the drive-in. This web site is dedicated
to all the people who enjoy attending Drive-In Theaters across America
and to the Drive-In owners who still operate every year, bringing enjoyment
to thousands.
