• Walking Businesses & Industries
July 8, Saturday, 11:00 am
Explore some of the businesses
and industries which helped make Owego a vibrant community 100 years ago.
Residents of Owego made everything from caskets to corsets and from fine
silk gloves to motorcycles. Some local businesses had been in operation
for more than 100 years. While most of these factory buildings are gone,
you can still get a sense of the bustling community which was here.
This walk will be led by local business woman April Swaney. The tour takes place throughout the Owego Historic District, and will last approximately an hour and a half.
Cost is $2.50 for members, $5 for non-members. The tour begins at the Historical Society Museum.
• Historic Summer Fun for Kids
