Learn About Wild Mushrooms

Walking in the woods to gather wild mushrooms is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors, get exercise, and forage for free food. Learn which edible summer wild mushrooms to look for locally, in a non-credit class at Broome Community College.

"Wild Mushroom Foray" is a field trip to a local park on Saturday, July 29, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Join the group on a walk through the woods to collect specimens, followed by identification, cooking, and eating the edibles.

The enthusiasm of instructors Julie Hambalek Dugan and Liz Klipsch is infectious and their mushroom class is fun and exciting. The registration fee is $15, and the deadline to register is July 21.
