Quilt Appraisal Day - May 6

May is quilt month at the Tioga County Historical Society Museum. The month will start off with a quilt appraisal day on Saturday, May 6. Certified quilt appraiser Eugenia Barnes, a well-known expert throughout central New York. Ms. Barnes has been a professional quilt maker, teacher, and lecturer since 1978. She has traveled throughout the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean to teach quilting, and is a founding member of the professional appraiser's organization, PAAQT.

Ms. Barnes will appraise both modern and antique quilts throughout the day on Saturday May 6. There is a fee of $25 per quilt. A portion of this fee goes to benefit the activities of the Tioga County Historical Society. All appraisals will be held at the Tioga County Historical Society (TCHS) Museum at 110 Front Street in Owego. Registration is required, with four slots per hour available between 10:00 am and 3:30 pm.
