Cozy Quilters Complete 2000th Quilt
For the past six years, the members of the Cozy Quilters have been meeting at the United Methodist Church in Owego to make quilts for the homeless. On March 28, 2000, The Cozy Quilters celebrated the making of their 2000th quilt. The quilters planned to stop meeting when they made 2000 quilts, but now their goal is 3000. The quilts created by the group have been distributed locally to the New Hope Center and to the Open Door Mission, and in Binghamton, Syracuse, and Rochester. Finished quilts are folded and filled with useful items such as clothing, soap, toothbrush, comb, and prayer book.
